 PRODUCT RANGE

The healthy home starts here.

No two projects are alike, so Hempitecture provides different building material solutions that will fit your needs. Our products share a common theme: sustainable, high performing, and low embodied carbon. Together, they can work synergistically to create whole-home solutions. Individually, they can be applied to enhance the thermal and acoustical comfort of a building project. Learn more about our product range here.

 THERMAL INSULATION

The Home of HempWool® Fiber Insulation

HempWool® is a thermal insulation product manufactured and sold in a panelized, batt-like form. HempWool is appropriate for anywhere in your thermal envelope, including walls, floors, ceilings, attics, and partition walls.

At R3.7 / in, the insulation factor of HempWool is comparable to many products on the market, such as fiberglass insulation, mineral wool insulation, or sheeps wool insulation.

HempWool® has a negative carbon footprint, meaning that it offsets and stores more carbon dioxide than is emitted from the manufacturing of the product itself.

Benefits include: non-toxic, mold-resistant, phase shift regulator, non-irritating, healthy, resistant to pests, and many more.

Benefits:

Sound

At R3.7 / in, HempWool is an ideal thermal insulation material.

High Phase Shift Resistance means your house won't overheat in summer and resists the coldest winter temperatures.

HempWool is capable of being exposed to moisture and maintaining R Value

HempWool attenuates sound transmission comparably to most other fiber insulation materials.

There are not other insulations on the market that can compare to the benefits of HempWool thermal insulation. If you have questions on Hemp Insulation from Hempitecture, visit our HempWool product pages to learn more. Stay tuned to this page as well, we will be rolling out different thermal insulation products for different applications over the coming year.

Natural Fiber AcoustiBatts

Hempitecture Natural Fiber AcoustiBatts are specifically engineered to attenuate sound. This means that AcoustiBatts are ideal for locations in a project where minimizing sound transmission from one room to another, or from one floor to another, is critical.

AcoustiBatts are able to be applied nearly anywhere in a project, but in general, it is recommended as an interior partition wall solution. Utilizing a Hempitecture AcoustiBatt in demising walls allows the walls to be constructed with thinner framing stock, such as 2x4" instead of 2x6", therefore allowing the savings of space and interior square footage.

AcoustiBatts sound deadening insulation is designed to fit standard 16" OC and 24" OC wood framing dimensions, and comes in a depth of 3.5"

 Hemp and Lime Biocomposites

Hemp and Lime for Cast-in-Place

Hempcrete is a biocomposite building system that is used primarily for thermal envelope applications. Hemp Lime, also known as hempcrete, is NOT a structural concrete replacement. Rather, it is a comprehensive building technique that is non-structural, non-loadbearing, and must always be cast around a structural frame or reinforced with structural elements. Cast-in-place refers to the process of mixing, forming, and packing hempcrete into temporary form boards on a project site.

Hempcrete takes the place of multiple materials, and therefore, is very unique to US building codes and standards. Hempcrete projects should only be considered in conjunction with a qualified architect, structural engineer, and specialty trained contractors.

Hempcrete should be considered from the earliest days of the design project. Hempitecture supplies cast-in-place hemp hurd and specialized limestone binder to create monolithic, biocomposite envelopes.

At R2.5 / in, cast-in-place hempcrete is insulating at recommended 10" depth

Hemp and Lime Blocks

Hempcrete is a biocomposite building system that is used primarily for thermal envelope applications. Hemp Lime, also known as hempcrete, is NOT a structural concrete replacement. Rather, it is a comprehensive building technique that is non-structural, non-loadbearing, and must always be cast around a structural frame or reinforced with structural elements. Hemp and Lime Blocks refers to building blocks that are already cured and can be stacked similarly to CMU's.

Hempitecture recommends using hempcrete blocks in conjunction with either wood framing, such as 2x4" of 2x6" framing, or timber framing. The blocks should be rendered with a lime based plaster to complete the vapor permeable envelope.

 VAPOR & MOISTURE CONTROL

Vapor Barriers for High Performance

Hempitecture supplies a vapor permeable, airtight membrane for high performance construction projects that are using HempWool. We recommend using an interior vapor barrier in environments that are most humid, such as the southern United States, coastal regions, or areas with high precipitation. By Using Hempitecture Vapor+Air Controlling membranes, HempWool will perform at its highest capabilities, and you will further save money on heating and cooling.
