Hempitecture is seeking a Full Time Manufacturing Technician for our Jerome and upstate NY manufacturing facilities.

 

Manufacturing Technicians will fulfill daily essential operations that are core to producing and distributing our biobased, non-toxic, natural nonwoven insulation products. To learn more about our products visit www.hempitecture.com

 

Warehousing

  • Operate forklift

  • loading and unloading trucks

  • pallet warehousing on racking system

  • pallet wrapping

  • panel stacking and palletizing

 

Manufacturing

  • Assist in the manufacturing process of various nonwoven products

  • Loading raw fiber bales into the production system

  • monitoring error messages and the successful operation of the manufacturing line in conjunction with oversight from Plant Manager

 

Maintenance

  • Daily facility maintenance

  • ensuring system is lubricated and cared for

  • ensuring forklifts are operational and maintained

 

Spanish and English preferred but not required

The ideal candidate will have experience managing both a production facility and a team. They should be able to analyze each step of the manufacturing process and make effective use of resources to deliver desired outcomes. The candidate will also have an ability to follow safety and compliance guidelines diligently in order to create a healthy work environment for all employees. 

 

Preference applied to candidates that have nonwoven and/or textile experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee plant operations such as budget, production schedule and stock

  • Maintain clean and safe workplace

  • Analyze production costs and inventory to establish areas for improvements

  • Ensure adherence to rules and workplace policies

  • Examine processes and design plans to effectively use available resources

  • Ensure Quality Control measures for products

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field

  • 6+ years of experience in field

  • Experience in plant management and manufacturing operations Strong communication, management and supervisory skills

  • Nonwoven manufacturing expertise preferred

  • Natural fiber experience preferred

Director of Sales

Hempitecture is seeking candidates for the senior leadership position of Director of Sales and Business Development.

The Director of Sales is a dynamic role within a growing startup focused on leading the company’s sale of biobased insulation products for the residential, commercial, and modular construction industries. Additionally, the VP of Sales is responsible for building a book of business for industries ancillary to construction, namely packaging for the cold freight shipping industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the growth of Hempitecture’s revenue

  • Collaborating with leadership on product go-to-market strategy

  • Establishing distribution and sales account relationships

  • Managing Hempitecture’s e-commerce channel and strategy

  • Leading a team of sales technicians

  • Administrating a regional Factory Representative program

  • Collaborating on physical and digital marketing efforts to strengthen sales operations

Experience:

  • The ideal applicant will have a track record of success growing the sales and revenue of organizations particularly in the building product and sustainability space

  • 5+ years in sales with experience in launching new products

  • An understanding of building materials and the market for building materials

  • A belief in the importance of sustainability 

  • Prior work with building materials manufacturers preferred.

  • Must have excellent communication skills 

  • Must have proficiency within startups and growing businesses
