Hempitecture will be hosting it's third annual Hemp Building Summit This October 29-30th, 2021 at the Austin Public Library, in Austin, Texas.
This event features two days of idea sharing, collaboration, and networking with the goal of accelerating action words sustainable building practices. The attendees will have the chance to take a tour of multiple hemp building projects and learn from exhibitors, distributors, suppliers, and construction experts on best market practices. The Hemp Building Summit gives you the chance to hear multiple presentations and discussions from a renowned panel of experts.
The Hemp Building Summit chose the Austin Public Library as the location for its 3rd Annual Event. The Austin Public Library is recognized as TIME Magazines "World's Greatest Places 2018." This incredible space holds the AIA Library Building Award, a Platinum LEED Certification, as well as a Rooftop Garden with the Largest Solar Installation in Austin, Texas.
2021 Keynote Speaker: Chris Magwood
We are excited to have Chris Magwood, as the 2021 Hemp Building Summit keynote speaker! Chris is a founder of the Endeavour Centre and teaches the Sustainable Building & Design program, Natural Building Intensive, and many workshops throughout the US and Canada. He has designed and built innovative buildings throughout North America, including a straw bale home which became a 15-year research into the implementation of sustainable building materials and technologies. He has authored seven books on sustainable building, with another in the works! Chris is also a contributor to Mother Earth News, Home Power, and The Last Straw Journal.
Join us for this live, in-person event with speakers and panels representing a wide cross section of global experts and industry leaders in hemp building! This event will dive deep into building with hempcrete, hemp lime, hemp insulation, and other bio-based natural building techniques.
