Hempitecture Making Strides

Hi All,

Thanks for joining us for our first email update. We look forward to keeping you in the loop on everything happening at Hempitecture.

This summer, Hempitecture is completing the hempcrete installation at the Highland Hemp House Project in Bellingham, WA. This project is the largest active hempcrete build site in the US at 3 stories and 2,500+ Sq. Ft. of new construction. We are now just days away from the completion of the hempcrete installation.

The task of doing a full hempcrete remodel of a house this square footage should not be underestimated! Our team planned extensively and we have implemented some on site innovations to decrease labor intensity and increase productivity, ultimately reducing the cost of hempcrete construction. We made an equipment investment for two modular conveyor belt systems that help us move and place the hempcrete material more efficiently. Using a systems thinking approach, we've made a lot of progress in creating an effective process for installing hempcrete on a large scale. We're confident that this application of technology, systems thinking, and on site innovation will help push the industry forward and make hempcrete a more scalable & cost effective method.

In the News

The Highland Hemp House Project has received some television coverage from Fox Q13 Seattle and NBC King 5 Seattle. You can also read about Hempitecture and hemp building in The New York Times and The Seattle Times. Locally, The Western Front published a great article "Bellingham Resident's Hemp House Nears Completion.

Hempitecture Wins at Princeton University

This June, Hempitecture co-founder Tommy Gibbons was selected from over 60 startups to participate at the annual Princeton Entrepreneurial Network Startup Showcase. From the 30 selected to display, only 3 startups were invited to the main stage to present their startup concepts. Tommy's impressive showing captivated the crowd and was the clear favorite among startups presenting that day. Hempitecture won the "People's Choice Award" with a small cash prize. Great work Tommy and we're glad to have you on the team!
